Fast and simple key handovers
Highly sensitive keys require secure storage. In many cases these are held by a responsible individual who passes on the key to the authorised persons and takes them back after use. However, this requires the key holder to be present when keys are both collected and returned. For this reason it makes good sense to store the key(s) in a centrally accessible place – and our key deposit boxes are perfect for this. They have been successfully used for years wherever different individuals or groups need to access a certain property. Many public institutions, authorities, universities and commercial enterprises use our products to deposit keys. However, a key deposit box can often be ideal for secure key storage in domestic environments as well, allowing tradesmen, carers and even family members to access a building easily and securely. Of course, access media such as key cards can be stored in the boxes as well as keys.
Key storage: the secure alternative
To avoid being locked out, many people leave a spare key in a supposedly safe place. Whether that be under a rainwater tank or doormat, in a knot-hole in a tree or beneath a wobbly stone, thieves know these hiding places: unintentionally and without thinking, people grant them entry. The same happens all too often in the workplace, where employers can incur significant loss and the consequences for the responsible person can be severe. A key deposit box minimises these risks while promising security for the responsible individual. Cases where an important key is lost create another argument for using key deposit boxes to look after keys: even in the worst case scenario, only the lock on the deposit box will need to be changed, and not the affected locks on the property in question.
Customised solutions
Our range of key deposit boxes means you can choose between several models as your needs dictate. Simple key boxes such as the 221 Standard, 222 Credit Card and 223 XL key deposit boxes are ideal for domestic use. Versions with highly corrosion-resistant V4A stainless steel include the 241 Standard, 242 Credit Card and 243 XL key deposit boxes.
The 520 M Code combination lock key deposit box, which of course is also available in a V4A stainless steel version, provide an introduction to masunt products with number codes.
Models with lock, VdS double-bit conversion lock 328 key deposit box, profile cylinder, profile cylinder M3 25PZ key deposit box and preconfigured form, PHZ M3 20 key deposit box, are also available; naturally, the range includes V4A stainless steel versions.
Fire department key boxes
Since a number of our key deposit boxes comply with DIN 14675 (FSD1) standard, they are ideal for use as fire department key boxes as mentioned earlier. The PHZ M3 20 key deposit box is particularly well suited to this purpose. Where a profile half-cylinder from the fire brigade is installed, this can be used effectively as a fire department key box. This means that in the event of a fire, firefighters can quickly and easily access the affected property. This is highly practical in many cases, and particularly where an owner is not present: firefighters are thereby able to advance into the site without causing damage.
