Handing over front door keys to outpatient carers

The masunt key safe allows you to securely and simply use the masunt key safe to deposit keys for outpatient and elderly care services. That way, carers have round-the-clock access to their patients.

A large number of senior citizens rely on help from outpatient carers for health reasons. Often, the service user leaves their front door key with the mobile care service, so the carer has access to their home at all times.

This offers some degree of security, especially for service users who are in poor health or are particularly at risk of falling. However, access may not always be guaranteed or obtained quick enough – especially if the key is lost, for example. What’s more, one service user may receive care from a variety of alternating carers. Also, we’re all human. It is entirely possible that an access key might be misplaced or that it might take a while to find a key if a carer is absent.

Key handover to mobile care services using a key safe

This is why it’s safest to leave the key in the location where it’s needed – i.e. in the immediate vicinity of the front door of the flat or house. And a great way of doing that is by using a key safe – also known as a key repository – which is best installed directly in the building wall. The key safe can be opened quickly and easily, at any time if required, using a code – which you can send to the mobile care service or to other groups of people who have appropriate access permissions too.

Stopping outpatient carers from losing keys

Since carers deposit the key back in the key safe after visiting the service user, this also eliminates the possibility of keys potentially being lost. It also helps to avoid unnecessary and nerve-wracking discussions with outpatient carers about possible liability when keys are lost.

Instead of using a fixed code, you alternatively have the option of authorising certain individuals to independently request opening codes, which are valid for a maximum of two hours, by text message. This ensures that who exactly had access to the patient’s home and when is precisely documented.

Whichever variant a care service chooses, using a key safe to store keys and hand them over to mobile carers is a straightforward and secure alternative.

Swift support in an emergency – guaranteed

But using a key safe isn’t just worthwhile when providing mobile care. Especially in an emergency, a key safe brings another advantage – the code can be easily communicated to the doctor on call, so there is no need for key handover and they can get to the scene of the accident as quickly as possible. Even if someone falls, for example, and isn’t able to call for help themselves anymore, using a key safe can prove helpful too. Relatives or even neighbours can check in on the occupant if they don’t open the door or if something else seems out of sorts to them.

Handing over keys at clubs with the masunt key safe

The masunt key safe is an ideal key handover solution for all kinds of clubs. The keys to rooms, properties and vehicles can be securely deposited and handed over – whether they’re for club members, cleaning staff, caretakers, security services or other parties.

Handing over keys outside of opening hours without any need for staff

There are many setups in clubs where key handover needs to take place. It is entirely possible, for instance, that members of a sports club would also like to train in the sports hall, fitness room or swimming pool outside of opening hours. With the masunt key safe, keys and access cards can be easily handed over to and deposited by club members and other authorised individuals without any need for staff to be present.

masunt donates a key safe

The football club FC Hövelriege e.V. would like to thank masunt for donating a ‘2120 E Code key safe’. This safe can be used to centrally and conveniently organise the allocation and use of the club’s very own VW Bulli van that is used to transport the children and young people to away matches. We currently have seven youth teams (four boys’ teams and three girls’ teams). The van is used to make the journey with the children easier for the coaches and parents / guardians. It means they don’t need to use their personal vehicles every time.

Since there are many youth teams and a correspondingly large number of parents / guardians and coaches, the masunt key safe makes handing over the key to the VW Bulli a central process and much easier at the FC Hövelriege sports grounds. Thanks to the use of the online code allocation with limited validity in particular, organisation and allocation of the VW Bulli van can be conveniently controlled over the internet.

Many thanks to masunt for this generous donation. It truly does make our everyday life at FC Hövelriege a great deal easier. (Sebastian Wiethoff, Managing Director of FC Hövelriege e.V.)

Key handover at Anpfiff ins Leben e.V.

The club Anpfiff ins Leben e.V. helps young athletes and amputees to create the best possible prospects for the future in their private and professional lives.

Anpfiff ins Leben e.V. uses the masunt key safes to hand over the keys for the youth buses.

‘We installed the masunt key safes in the coaches’ room of our youth development centre and use them to easily hand over the keys for the youth buses. Since they are often on the road multiple times over the course of a weekend, this is the ideal solution for us. Each coach receives an individual code for the booked time. It is valid for that specific time only and is simply generated online.

The key is returned to the assigned safe after use, and the next person can access the key again at their booked time using their individual code. The keys are securely stowed away too.

We can only recommend the key safe to any club that has multiple vehicles.’ (Philipp Schmidt, School / Vocational / Social Affairs Coordinator, Team Anpfiff EVOlution)
